| hey everyone. you probably thought i was long dead by now, huh? well sorry to disappoint. i'm only partially dead, and getting closer every day. and no, this isn't a new occurance, i've actually been dying for the past 19 and a half years. every day i get one day closer to my death, and another 24 hours has passed by unheeded. Maybe someday i'll get a firm grasp on the time that seems to be sliding past me, but i doubt that. I wouldn't be suprised if it only got worse as i grow older; the closer one gets to dying, the faster time seems to streak by. Blurring by at an astonishing rate and by the time you can catch your breath, you're at your end, and the material things of this life are far past trivial. It is, to use an example from Faulkner, it's as if one were facing backwards in a fast moving vehicle; you cannot see the land that is behind you, everything that's going past is too hard to make out, and the only thing you can properly see as that which has already past. lolz...sorry, i wasn't going to go off in that dirrection, but there i went... anyways, i'm not dead yet, and not only that, i'm coming back to the place from whence i came. My small, quaint, hometown of Manheim pennsylvania.. anyways, i'm comin home, momma! thekurt | | |
| It all started on this glorious monday. I was going to get to go snowboarding that night! I even got to leave work early so we could be at Shawnee Peak by 4. I left work at about 2:30, ran home, got my gear, and ran over to Jordan and Bekah's apartment where we were meeting. It was Jordan, Sheldon, Tim, Dr. Phil and I all going. The ticket was only 12 dollars because of the monday night deal. A complete steal, if you've never experienced the sticker-shock from buying a lift ticket from anywhere decent...but anyways, the first run, we went on the bunny slope.. or the "rabbit run" as they call it... weird, huh? i never heard it called that before. but anyways, that went well.. and then the second run was also on the rabbit run... the next time we went on a slightly harder one. That one was okay... the trail was pretty icy and stuff, but not really anything to excuse myself... but I was kinda insecure since it's been a while since i last boarded... anyways, i was coming in to stop right there at the ski lift, but there was this big dip, and i was plowing in to stop and this dang dip caught my board and boom, there i go, flat on my face... then i continued flipping and landed back on my face again. the snow was pretty icy, and it messed my face up...so there ya go... i'm rather not good at boarding, and thus my face is messed up...
heh...well anyways, it's getting better now...but this is the first time anything like this happened to me.. so yay me! so anyways, i'm done.. | | |
| howdy again! wow, i think that's a record right there... k.. well, last weekend, a few of us went...umm..downhill winter sport..-ing....for those of you worried about political correctness... so it was myself, jordan hollinger, phil rogers, ike stauffer, kenny, keri, sheila, sheldon and jordan keller all took a nice trip to Sunday River, ME. woo! So me and kenny pretty much stuck w/ each other all day, since we boarders need to stay together.. and the other skiing losers went off and did whatever they do... and we pretty much kicked butt! it was the first time i used my own board on a real ski slope, so that was pretty rad... and it was kenny's first time on a slope at all, so congrats to him! so after lunch, kenny and i went w/ sheldon and jordan k to go the the bigger terrain park... but we took the wrong lift, and we took a detour to the most beautiful sight you've ever seen.... the top of the mountain, being able to turn around and see mountains all around you....it was glorious... but yeah, thanks to some "accidental" routes, we ended up going on some black diamonds, but it was all good...jordan gave me a nice face full of powder after a crazy wipeout...pretty nice .. but yeah, it was sad to leave, but i was tired and my feet hurt... so the fellas stuck around the whole next day, and it was good times... thanks for coming up, guys...you're the best! but yeah...now it's dumping down snow like no tommorow... we actually got off work at 11 b/c of it... and it's still going! yeah... insanity, right? k, g2g..it was good times.. laterz y'all! thekurt

| wow...sorry, folks, i really have no excuse for not writing more.. i suppose i'll go ahead and fill you in on some key events that have recently occurred...
For one, I'm in Maine for a year, doing missions work...if you didn't know that, then stop reading immediately, because you obviously don't care enough about me to find out my whereabouts every minute or every day, so i don't care about you....*sob* anyways, i was kidding, i suppose you could always start keeping track of my whereabouts now...a good a time as any btw..
mm..Christmas has occurred.. i really hope that wasn't news to anyone... cuz- woah! Christmas?! when was this?! where was i?!
okay..so i got to head down for the big PA for some non-denominational winter holiday. I had quite the amazing time, although it was hard to get around, what with the language barrier and all.. hehe..crazy pennsylvanians and their gibberish..
Now i'm back up! oh, and you know the stereo-typical Maine winter, where it snows every day and houses are lost due to snow drifts? well i was told by the mainers that most of the time it hardly ever snows, and the only thing winter does is get really really cold. needless to say, i was quite disappointed that we weren't going to be snowed in all winter and go stir-crazy until all the snow melted.. Well, let me tell ya, it has practically snowed every week this winter, sometimes twice a week.. we now have snow drifts over 5 feet tall! isn't that awesome?! so yeah, i got snow-fever and went out and bought a brand-new snowboard! yay for being bankrupt! actually, it wasn't that bad.. i got both the board and the boots for half price, and the bindings off 20%, so instead of paying 745 dollars, i only had to pay 450! yay! it's a really sexy one too.. you oughta see it but noooo touchin! lolz kidding.... no, no i'm not..if you touch it, i swear, it'll be the last thing you ever touch with that finger again!
and now, that pretty much brings us up to modern times...i'm going boarding w/ my two best friends on saturday b/c they're coming up! so's ike stauffer.. and keri and sheila and kenny and maybe jordan keller are all going to Sunny River... ooh, yeah, so phyched
ok, so now it's your turn! (subtle applause) you tell me what i did wrong, and i'll tell you to shove it.. in a creavive manner! go forth and do likewise
(bye everyone! -kurt)

| hey everyone! big suprise! i'm not in Maine once again! hehe..yeah, i'm back home in PA... Right here in my living room with some nice Ice Age 2 going on in the background, the heat kinda enveloping me, and..umm...i dunno.. a very homey feeling...
I was going to have to hitch a ride with Kevin, who was kind enough to offer me a ride down to PA, even though he wasn't planning on going down in the first place. Despite his generous offer, it was only going to get me down on Friday morning, just in time to get my rear to retreat and help set up. Phil and Brent quite amazed me when they offered to drive up to pick me up, then turn around and drive straight back down.. it pretty much blew me away... they drove 18 straight hour just to get me home in time... so yeah, huge major props to them! huge props!
